Mamba FC won and took the trophy home and R400 after they conquered Blue Bird FC. Blue Bird FC was awarded R1500 every team that participated received a brand-new soccer kit. The soccer tournament was held at Shaka resident stadium extension VV on the 19th of May 2023.

The Shaka tournament began in 2021, it aims to use sports such as soccer and netball to help to improve nation building and school cohesion around Soshanguve. Both teams are looking forward to having another match next weekend.

Mamba FC coach, Abel Mametja, " it is a privilege and honor to be. Mamba FC won and took the trophy home for R400 after they conquered blue bird FC.

Mamba FC coach, Abel Mametja said, “It is a privilege and honor to be part of Shaka tournament. As a school we are proud of our boys' team who made it to the finals in the category. Although under 12 and 15 team did not make it to the finals but they played well, what I have recognized is that they still need more training. We hope next time they are going to be better than this.”

While the Blue Bird FC team were unhappy, the Mamba FC were celebrating their victory on how they played during the match.

Shaka soccer tournament hopes that the prize money will be used to develop skills and create more passion especially for young boys and reduce substance abuse in the community.

“We are disappointed in ourselves, we need to push harder but at the end of the day, this is a game. We believe that on our next match with Mamba FC, we will the match, "said Moses, one of Blue Bird FC player.

Shaka residence will be hosting a June 16 sport tournament at Shaka stadium, Soshanguve block VV. It is going to be the biggest tournament that Shaka has hosted. “Organizers are promoting the tournament by hosting a friendly game every 2 weeks so that every player can become aware of the upcoming tournament”, said Dorothy Maluleke, one of the tournament organizers.
